FASHION WEEKEND SYDNEY

IMG_5455

My sis and I ditched the kids and headed to Fashion Weekend last night- it was a lovely excuse to get dressed up, wear heels and do some shopping at a leisurely pace with the bonus of all retailers at the event offering huge discounts.

The catwalk showcased 3 of my favourite brands- Bec & Bridge, Maurie & Eve and Winston Wolfe, each inciting ooohhhs and aaaahhs as the beautiful outfits sauntered out on impossibly tall and willowy models *sigh*

I am particularly dying over the Maurie & Eve pale pink long trench coat- this season’s hottest colour in the most versatile shape- TDF!

Then we went out and ate supper- yes different to dinner which we’d already eaten… We are fattys. Can’t help ourselves.

CUT IT OUT

New shoes! Yay!

I’ve had my eye on these for a while, then I saw my friend Nat wearing them and bam! I was sold!

They have a chunkier heel than I am use to, and to be honest that was the one thing that was keeping me from making the purchase when I first saw them… But it’s this heel that makes them so comfortable!

I’m loving the edgy cut outs and front lacing- not so practical as we are approaching the winter months but hey, they look fabulous so that’s all that matters!

Talking about shoes- I’ll be running a Mother’s Day competition in conjunction with Miss Minit via my Instagram ALLDRESSEDUPBLOG next week- stay tuned for details and make sure you follow me on Instagram!

Dinner was an unexpected trip to Chinta Ria on Saturday night (late post I know)- one of our favourite restaurants! An oldie but a goodie.

We were lucky enough to experience the city in surprisingly mild autumn weather- the kids were peeling off their jackets/vest/jumpers quicker than you can say Fredo Frog! And of course, I’m the walking coat stand 🙂

I was so happy it wasn’t freezing- I’m not ready to put my pins away! I want it to be shorts and skirts weather forever!

So I’m milking the mildness for all it’s worth in my striped mini skirt (wearing it to death) and my favourite leopard print boots- I bought these 2 years ago and they are still amazing! I always get compliments on them and the low heel means they’re super comfy and practical enough to run after the munchkins if necessary.

Here are a great pair available now!

Happy Easter everyone!

We were blessed with the most amazing weather today- warm and sunny with not a rain cloud in sight.

We spent the day at Brooklyn by the Hawksbury River, where we ate fish and chips by the marina and frolicked by the sea- perfection at its best.

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter with your family and loved ones, and dutifully stuffed your faces with copious amounts of chocolate!

LADY IN DISTRESS

Today marks the first day of no daylight savings here in Sydney- and as you can see the clouds are appropriately gloomy. Autumn has officially started.

The change in weather means a drastic change in wardrobe- I go from living in cut off shorts all summer long (a lazy girl’s staple item for scorching heat) to suddenly wanting to be chic and polished.

This skirt is a life saver- the length and fitted shape means I feel semi-polished, but the distressing makes it feel modern and edgy. Plus of course, denim goes with everything.

These shoes- my lord are sooooo old… My good friend Ivy and I picked them up on our girls’ trip to Hong Kong a gazillion years ago… And they make it through the shoe cull every. single. time. I’m pretty sure she still has her pair too! I wish I’d bought them in every colour! I’m surprised I didn’t 🙂

Anyhow off to have a yummy lunch- it’s family day today! Yay no work!

Hope you’re having a fab weekend x

We went along to my god-daughter’s 1st Birthday party today- how time flies! I remember we were just at her christening and now she has reached her first birthday milestone!

The sun came out and made it a perfect day for face painting, playing and eating good food in the company of friends- all things that make a fantastic 1st birthday party.

Millie was such a good little lady, sitting still enough to let fairy Amanda paint her face, and generally getting passed from person to person for squishy cuddles without complaining or crying… my kids were not that well behaved at their 1st birthday parties for sure!

Happy Birthday Millie Moo! We love you!

Hope you had a fab weekend!
