Yesterday was absolutely sweltering!
The kids and I spent the morning running errands (read: Woolworths trip 2 for the week) and then came home and splashed in the pool to cool down. They also had a play in the sandpit not good when you’re all wet!
So into the bath they went for a quick wash down before the afternoon siesta.
I don’t know about your kids but mine love love love having no clothes on. They ran up and down the hallway screaming “nudie rudie! nudie rudie!” in nothing but their undies/nappies, and stayed that way while I started on dinner.
They had so much fun mucking around that they didn’t want to go to sleep, but I told them “no sleep, no trick-or-treating” and so they ran quick as a flash to their rooms and konked out like I knew they would. Nothing works better than bribery.
On an outfit note, I wore several new purchases together for the morning outting-
T-Shirt & Earrings: Sportsgirl, Jeans: Denim & Thread, Sunglasses: MinkPink, Bangle: CC Skye, Shoes: Christian Louboutin
New Item No. 1: Mirrored MinkPink Aviator Sunglasses- $50 from David Jones, they get a tick since I had them on my buy now list. Buy them over at Surfstitch.com, and sunglassconnection.com.au
New Item No. 2: Sportsgirl T-Shirt- my local Sportsgirl store was having a $10 off promo on their swing t-shirts and singlets, so I picked up 3 t-shirts (black, white, heather grey) for $19.95 each, and 2 singlets (white and heather grey) for $14.95 each. They’re a great cut as they’re not too loose around the bust and neckline then flare out in a nice ‘swing’ shape at the hemline- great for hiding tummy lumps and bumps!
New Item No. 3: Shoulder Duster Earrings from Sportsgirl $16.95. We all know I’m really big on accessories- it’s hard to justify wearing fancy clothes out when you have 2 kids under the age of 4 (is that cordial on my Balmain t-shirt?!), so accessories are my go-to staples to dress up my wardrobe basics. Necklaces are a must (see previous posts) and my new obsession is earrings. Big ones. Fancy ones. Full-on shoulder duster ones.
What did you do to cool off?
