My sis and I ditched the kids and headed to Fashion Weekend last night- it was a lovely excuse to get dressed up, wear heels and do some shopping at a leisurely pace with the bonus of all retailers at the event offering huge discounts.

The catwalk showcased 3 of my favourite brands- Bec & Bridge, Maurie & Eve and Winston Wolfe, each inciting ooohhhs and aaaahhs as the beautiful outfits sauntered out on impossibly tall and willowy models *sigh*

I am particularly dying over the Maurie & Eve pale pink long trench coat- this season’s hottest colour in the most versatile shape- TDF!

Then we went out and ate supper- yes different to dinner which we’d already eaten… We are fattys. Can’t help ourselves.

Fashion Weekend Sydney is on until Sunday so don’t miss out! Tickets available here or at the door.

Grab your friends and bag yourselves a bargain on some great brands!

SOTD: Let’s Cap It Off

Baseball hats have been popping up all over the fashion scene- and it’s a great way to hide a bad hair day!

I love love love pieces like this- the perfect example of taking a basic item and giving it a super luxe and super stylish re-vamp.

This is why I love fashion!

On another note: this is my other new necklace from H&M care of my personal shopper Nat!

Out And About With Jimmy

Leather Jacket & Gold Knit Tank: Kookai (still available in stores), Skirt: Sass & Bide (bought at the recent warehouse sale), Shoes: Jimmy Choo, Clutch: Alexander McQueen, Necklace: Kenneth Jay Lane, Metal Belt: Sportsgirl

Had a lovely time at a friend’s hen’s dinner last night- went to über cool Paper Planes restaurant in Bondi where they served up the most delicious prawn gyozas I have ever tasted.

Was very excited to be rocking out my new Choos- they were sooooo comfortable, I couldn’t believe it. The best 4.5 inch heels ever. Those Italians really know how to make a shoe- this is why I am such an avid fan.

Miu Miu Me!

A quick shot before we head out the door to Her Majesty’s dance class.

His Highness is currently obsessed with the book Shhh! Little Mouse by Pamela Allen- hence the pumpkin! He’s been carrying it around all morning!

Shirt: J Crew Factory, Shorts: American Apparel, Belt: Country Road, Sunglasses: Sportsgirl, Beaded Bracelets: Bardot, Cuff: Miu Miu, Watch: Tag Heuer, Diamond Bracelet: xmas present from hubby, Personalised Red Wrap Bracelet: www.mimoo.com.au (by request) Shoes: Urge from Wanted Shoes (bought ages ago)

I bought my Miu Miu cuff on my first ever buying trip to London. It was the last one because it was such a small size- yay for me!

(A Couple Of) Shades Of Grey

T-Shirt: Sportsgirl, Skirt: Minusey, Denim Jacket & Necklace: J Crew, Shoes: Camilla Skovgaard, Clutch: Alexander McQueen, Cuff: Hermes

Yay went out tonight!

Had a dinner date with some girlfriends so popped on my heels and headed out the door for some posh food and a good chin wag.

Catching up with friends always makes me feel better, and semi-“me” again after just being “mum/cook/cleaner/general household slave” most of the time.

SOY (Summary Of Yesterday) Part 1: Feeling Hot Hot Hot

Yesterday was absolutely sweltering!

The kids and I spent the morning running errands (read: Woolworths trip 2 for the week) and then came home and splashed in the pool to cool down. They also had a play in the sandpit not good when you’re all wet!

So into the bath they went for a quick wash down before the afternoon siesta.

I don’t know about your kids but mine love love love having no clothes on. They ran up and down the hallway screaming “nudie rudie! nudie rudie!” in nothing but their undies/nappies, and stayed that way while I started on dinner.

They had so much fun mucking around that they didn’t want to go to sleep, but I told them “no sleep, no trick-or-treating” and so they ran quick as a flash to their rooms and konked out like I knew they would. Nothing works better than bribery.

On an outfit note, I wore several new purchases together for the morning outting-

T-Shirt & Earrings: Sportsgirl, Jeans: Denim & Thread, Sunglasses: MinkPink, Bangle: CC Skye, Shoes: Christian Louboutin

New Item No. 1: Mirrored MinkPink Aviator Sunglasses- $50 from David Jones, they get a tick since I had them on my buy now list. Buy them over at Surfstitch.com, and sunglassconnection.com.au

New Item No. 2: Sportsgirl T-Shirt- my local Sportsgirl store was having a $10 off promo on their swing t-shirts and singlets, so I picked up 3 t-shirts (black, white, heather grey) for $19.95 each, and 2 singlets (white and heather grey) for $14.95 each. They’re a great cut as they’re not too loose around the bust and neckline then flare out in a nice ‘swing’ shape at the hemline- great for hiding tummy lumps and bumps!

New Item No. 3: Shoulder Duster Earrings from Sportsgirl $16.95. We all know I’m really big on accessories- it’s hard to justify wearing fancy clothes out when you have 2 kids under the age of 4 (is that cordial on my Balmain t-shirt?!), so accessories are my go-to staples to dress up my wardrobe basics. Necklaces are a must (see previous posts) and my new obsession is earrings. Big ones. Fancy ones. Full-on shoulder duster ones.

What did you do to cool off?

NP (New Purchase) Arrival: Ksubi Skirt

My Ksubi skirt arrived late last week, and I finally got to wear it!

My new skirt got its first outing to the Halloween shop to buy a costume for Her Majesty, and of course all my clothes need to get familiar with Woolworths so off we went after we picked up a princess outfit… I know, not very Halloween appropriate, but hey, she wants to be a princess instead of a witch and who can blame her? Witches have such a bad rep!

Today’s pictures are a double post as I wanted to show you all my trusty chambray shirt which is currently on very high rotation in my wardrobe (see my previous post here).

It has cool zipper pockets

Here’s my chambray shirt- see? It has tabs on the arms so you can roll up the sleeves and keep them there… very handy.

Chambray Shirt: J Crew, Skirt: Ksubi, Necklace: Sportsgirl, Shoes: Valentino, Sunglasses: Tom Ford, Watch: Tag Heuer, Red Personalised Bracelet: www.mimoo.com.au (by request) Diamond Bracelet: From hubby for christmas last year

On another note, my poor buxus hedge is in desperate need of some fertiliser! Hubby hedged it after letting it grow out of control for too long and now it looks like it’s going bald! Just look at it! You can see straight through it in some parts it’s so patchy! It’s on my to-do list this weekend.
